The experiment aimed to study a saponification reaction between NaOH and Et(Ac) in a tubular flow reactor. The reaction rate constant K was determined for different flow rates. K decreased from 70 L/mol/min to 29.72 L/mol/min as the flow rate decreased from 300 ml/min to 50 ml/min. The conversion X was directly proportional to the residence time.
