What is Ati-Atihan Festival: History & Significance about?
The Ati-Atihan Festival is an annual celebration held in January in Kalibo, Philippines honoring the Infant Jesus. Locals dress as the indigenous Aeta people and parade through the streets performing tribal dances and music. Both Christians and non-Christians take part in religious processions for the festival, which is considered the original precursor of other major Philippine festivals and known as the "Mother of All Philippine Festivals."
