This study examined the impact of intestinal parasites on the gut microbiota and levels of cobalamin (vitamin B12) genes in stool samples from 37 asymptomatic children in Argentina. Quantitative PCR was used to detect and measure levels of various parasites, including Giardia and helminths. Whole genome sequencing analyzed the microbiota composition and identified cobalamin synthesis genes.
