What is Charcoal Briquette Manufacturing Process about?
A method is described for manufacturing fuel briquettes from wood charcoal using pitch from wood tar as a binder. The pitch is heated and emulsified by adding a heated sodium carbonate solution. The emulsion is mixed with heated powdered charcoal in a centrifugal disintegrator. The mass is then heated slightly to break down the emulsion before being pressed into briquettes. Small amounts of sodium nitrate are added to help combustion of the finished briquettes.
