What is Dextro-Transposition of Great Vessels about?
Transposition of the great arteries (TGA) is a congenital heart defect where the aorta arises from the right ventricle and the pulmonary artery arises from the left ventricle. It is the most common cyanotic heart defect seen in newborns, causing cyanosis within the first 24 hours of life. TGA accounts for up to 7% of all congenital heart anomalies and can be diagnosed using echocardiography, CT, or MRI.
