About this document

SINR Performance in Vertical Handoff by Nasim Hamaydeh is a document available to read on EtoBox.

The document presents a study on the performance of a Signal to Interference and Noise Ratio (SINR) scheme for vertical handoff between heterogeneous wireless networks. Simulation results show that on average 9% of user calls are dropped when using the SINR scheme in WLAN and WCDMA networks. The authors propose that a distance-based scheme may provide better performance by decreasing service disconnection rates and increasing system throughput during vertical handoffs compared to the SINR scheme.
