This study evaluated the impact of increasing vegetarian meal availability in six English worksite cafeterias through a stepped-wedge cluster-randomised controlled trial. The intervention led to a 41% increase in the likelihood of selecting vegetarian meals, reduced per-meal kilocalories and greenhouse gas emissions, and did not negatively affect cafeteria revenue or food waste.
