What is Rizal about?

Rizal received his early education in Calamba and Biñan. His first teacher was his mother, who taught him the alphabet and prayers. Later, he had private tutors teach him at home. For secondary education, he attended school in Biñan under Maestro Justiniano Aquino Cruz, where he excelled academically but also got into fights with bullies. He enjoyed painting lessons from a neighbor. After a year and a half, he returned to Calamba to continue his studies.
