Jiddu Krishnamurti was an Indian writer and speaker on philosophical and spiritual issues. He was born in 1895 in colonial India to a Telugu Brahmin family. As a young boy, he was discovered by prominent Theosophists Charles Leadbeater and Annie Besant, who believed him to be a future World Teacher. However, as a young man Krishnamurti disavowed this idea and dissolved the organization established to support it, instead urging people to directly discover truth for themselves independently of spiritual leade
