This study investigates the effect of varying zinc (Zn) content on the microarc oxidation (MAO) coating behavior of synthetic Al–Zn binary alloys. It was found that increasing Zn content promotes the formation of porous coatings and affects the microhardness and phase composition, with higher Zn levels suppressing the formation of α-Al2O3. The coatings were characterized using XRD, SEM, and microhardness measurements, revealing a correlation between Zn concentration and coating properties.
