Emily Bronte was an English novelist born in 1818 in Yorkshire, England. Her only novel, Wuthering Heights, was published under a pen name in 1847 and is now considered a classic of English literature. Emily lived with her family in Haworth Parsonage and taught briefly before returning home due to ill health. She wrote poetry in addition to Wuthering Heights and died of tuberculosis at the young age of 30.
