What is Bioethanol Production from Seaweed SSF about?
The study investigates the production of bioethanol from seaweeds Gracilaria verrucosa and Eucheuma cottonii using simultaneous saccharification and fermentation (SSF) methods. Results indicate that G. verrucosa and E. cottonii can yield ethanol levels of 5.7% and 6.1% respectively after 10 days of fermentation, with optimal conditions producing 7.7% and 7.2% ethanol. The research highlights the potential of these seaweeds as low-cost raw materials for bioethanol production in Indonesia.
