What is Planar Capacitive Sensors: Design Insights about?

This research article discusses planar capacitive sensors. It presents the sensing mechanism, important design considerations, and performance evaluation metrics. The article analyzes how the sensitivity distribution of different electrode designs depends on geometry. It also examines how conductivity affects sensor performance in different sensing modes. Several sensor array designs are experimentally evaluated to characterize materials and image buried structures. The findings provide guidelines for desig
