Hydro-Québec is a Canadian Crown corporation that manages electricity generation, transmission, and distribution in Quebec, and exports power to parts of the Northeast United States. Established in 1944, it has become one of the largest hydropower producers globally, with a capacity of 37,370 megawatts from 63 hydroelectric power stations. In 2023, it paid CA$2.47 billion in dividends to the Government of Quebec and offers some of the lowest residential power rates in North America.
