What is Overview of Nuclear Power Plant Systems about?
The nuclear power plant has several key systems that work together to produce energy. The containment vessel uses thick concrete and steel layers to protect against radiation leaks. Inside is the reactor core where fuel rods and control rods regulate the nuclear reaction. Coolant flows through the reactor core, then to a steam generator to heat water for the turbine which powers the generators to produce electricity. Waste heat is removed and coolant is recycled through a condenser and cooling tower.
