What is Mampuru II: King of the Pedi People about?

Mampuru II was a king of the Pedi people who succeeded Sekwati in 1861 but his claim was disputed by Sekhukhune. In 1879, the British installed Mampuru as king after defeating Sekhukhune. Mampuru later ordered the assassination of Sekhukhune in 1882 and was arrested and hanged for this by the South African Republic the following year. Mampuru is now regarded as an early liberation icon in South Africa.
