What is Ciro Alegría: Life and Works about?
Ciro Alegría was a Peruvian writer, educator and journalist born in 1909 in La Libertad, Peru to José Eliseo Alegría Lynch and María Herminia Bazán Lynch. He studied at Colegio Nacional San Juan de Trujillo and the National University of Trujillo, and wrote several novels including The Golden Serpent, The Hungry Dogs, and The Legend of the Nopal. His literary works achieved international recognition despite producing much of his writing from exile abroad.
