This study investigates the impact of adding hydrogen and oxymethylene ether fuels to compressed natural gas in a dual fuel RCCI engine. Results show that lengthening the oxymethylene ether chain advances peak heat release but delays second combustion. Hydrogen addition increases peak temperature and pressure. Oxymethylene ether fuels reduce soot and avoid the soot-NOx tradeoff compared to diesel.
