What is Flexible Reflector Antenna for Satellites about?

The article presents a novel deployable reflector antenna designed for small satellites, utilizing a triaxially woven fabric-reinforced silicone (TWFS) composite. This innovative design allows for a compact stowed configuration while ensuring high surface accuracy upon deployment, making it suitable for high-performance applications in satellite communications. A prototype of the 0.6 m diameter antenna has been fabricated and experimentally validated, demonstrating the feasibility of the proposed approach.
