The ground state constants \(A_{0}, D_{0}^{X}\), and \(H_{0}^{X}\) of the \(\mathrm{CH}_{3} \mathrm{CN}\) molecule have been determined by combining the high-resolution Fourier transform spectra of the lowest fundamental band \(\nu_{8}\), of the combination band \(v_{7}+v_{8}\), and of the hot band \(v_{7}+v_{8}-v_{8}\). The ground state term value differences \(F(J, K+3)-F(J, K)\) were deduced for five \(K\) values \(0-4\). From almost 400 differences. the following results (in \(\mathrm{cm}^{-1}\) ) were obtained: \(A_{0}=5.2736171(26) . D_{0}^{K}=94.46(15) \times 10^{-6}\). and \(H_{0}^{\hat{K}}=5.2(24) \times 10^{-9}\). 1993 Academic Press. Inc.
