What is Cimprich, 2009. Duración Conteo en Puntos about?

This study investigates the impact of count duration on abundance estimates of male Black-capped Vireos using distance sampling methods in central Texas. It finds that 3-minute counts provided the most accurate estimates, being only 26% higher than the actual number present, while longer counts (5 and 6 minutes) resulted in inflated estimates. The author recommends preliminary data collection to determine optimal count durations for accurate abundance estimates in avian research.
