About this document

Grating Constant Determination Experiment by Charmaine Coleta is a document available to read on EtoBox.

1) The student measured the angular positions of the diffraction lines from a mercury lamp using a diffraction grating. 2) From these measurements, the student calculated the wavelengths of the emitted light and determined the grating constant. 3) By plotting the sine of the angular measurements versus the theoretical wavelengths and performing a linear regression, the student obtained the experimental grating constant and compared it to the theoretical value to evaluate the accuracy of the experiment.
