About this document

Soil Bunds Impact on Crop Yield and Erosion by Debela Z Nedjo is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This study investigates the impact of soil bunds on runoff, soil and nutrient losses, and crop yield in the Central Highlands of Ethiopia over three years. Results indicate that soil bunds significantly reduce runoff by 28% and soil loss by 47%, but do not increase crop yield, which decreased by about 7% due to reduced cultivable area. The findings suggest that while soil bunds are effective for erosion control, additional measures are needed to mitigate yield losses and encourage farmer adoption.
