What is "Ich war die grosse juedische Hoffnung" : Erinnerungen einer aussergewoehnlichen Sportlerin about?

Memoirs of a German Jewish sportswoman, born in 1914 in Laupheim, Germany. As an adolescent she won a medal as a high jumper, but in 1933 the Nazis blocked her career. She then emigrated to England, but was forced by the Nazis to return to Germany in order to join their Olympic team as a "token Jew". However, shortly before the opening of the Olympic Games in 1936 her participation was cancelled. In 1937 she emigrated to the USA.
