What is ChemInform Abstract: Sr2Fe2F10×H2O, the First Hydrated Strontium Iron(III) Fluoride. about?
Sr2Fe2F10•H2O, the First Hydrated Strontium Iron(III) Fluoride. -Single crystals of the title compound are prepared hydrothermally from a mixture of SrF2, Fe2O3, and 11 M HF (973 K, 180 MPa). The compound crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, space group Cmca, Z = 8. The structure contains chains of trans-vertex-sharing FeF6 octahedra and chains of face-sharing SrF10 polyhedra. The two types are linked via common edges to form double chains. Isolated FeF5(H2O) octahedra and SrF8 polyhedra are located between the double chains. -(LE MEINS,
