This study evaluates the validity of the Demirjian method for estimating dental age in children aged 6-17 in Surabaya, Indonesia, using panoramic radiographs. Results indicate no significant difference between chronological age and estimated dental age for males, while a significant difference was found for females. The findings suggest that the Demirjian method is applicable for estimating dental age in males but may not be as reliable for females in this population.
