What is People v. Apduhan: Intoxication & Guilt about?
The Supreme Court upheld the conviction of Apduhan for the complex crime of robbery with homicide. There were three aggravating circumstances present - dwelling, band, and nighttime. The Court found that dwelling was properly considered an aggravating factor because robbery can be committed without entering a home. While Apduhan pleaded guilty and claimed intoxication as mitigating factors, the Court did not consider them sufficient to overcome the aggravating circumstances.
