What is Understanding Service Incentive Leave about?

Service incentive leave is a benefit granted to employees in the Philippines that allows them to take 5 days of paid leave each year after one year of service. Employees can choose to use the leave days or receive payment for the unused days. Upon resignation or separation from work, employees are entitled to payment for any accrued but unused service incentive leave days. The Supreme Court clarified that the prescriptive period for claiming unpaid service incentive leave pay is not limited to three years.
