Kautilya, also known as Chanakya, was an Indian philosopher who lived in the 4th century BC. He was born in northern India to a Brahmin family and studied at Takshashila University. Kautilya served as the prime minister to Chandragupta Maurya and helped him defeat the Nanda Empire.
