What is McDonald about?

Marcus, a VISTA member from Boston serving in a rural ranching community, rushed into organizing design meetings for a family literacy program without consulting his mentor Sharon. He reached out to invitees by email and phone and provided food, but only 3 of the 10 people he invited showed up to the meeting. Marcus failed to consider important cultural differences in communication styles between his hometown and the rural ranching community he was serving.
