Aceros Arequipa was founded in 1966 in Arequipa, Peru and produces steel profiles and bars. The company implemented Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) in its cold rolling plant, which processes rebar and wire rod. Before TPM, the plant experienced unplanned downtime. After implementing TPM in 12 steps over time, which included employee training and autonomous maintenance, the plant saw a monthly savings of $1,422.16 from reduced unplanned downtime.
