About this document
Dial-a-Speed Motor Controller Guide by luisa is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This document describes the Dial-a-Speed, a DIY electronic speed controller for small DC motors. It uses pulse-width modulation to vary the speed of motors between 5-12V by adjusting the duty cycle of square waves sent to the motor. Testing showed it could effectively control speeds of various RadioShack motors and fans. The controller is built around a potentiometer, 555 timer chip, and MOSFET on a small circuit board in a compact package. Instructions are provided for assembling the controller.
