## Abstract Using the example of weblogs the paper raises the question what kind ofprocedures are necessary to enable speech acts (written or spoken), pictures(moving or static), typography, layout, etc. – i.e., procedures thatare considered to be possibility conditions for acts of communication. Toanswer that question a category from early Textual Linguistics – __Formsof Communication__ (initially: Ermert 1979) – is reconstructed in its developmentthroughout the history of Textual and Media Linguistics (cf.Brinker 6[1985] 2005; Dürscheid 2005; Holly 1996, 2011b; Domke 2010a)and is reconceptualized with a more pragmatic resp. praxeological approach.In order to do this, the concept of Speech Procedures – developedby the Functional Pragmatics approach (cf. Ehlich [1986] 1991) – ischosen, conceptually located, and adapted to enable a description that addressesall the actions which establish – quite simultaneously to acts ofcommunication – the possibility to communicate and which are clusteredand differentiated as __Medializing and Addressing Procedures__.
