## Abstract In the concluding chapter of the book, I review how the work presented in this book answers Calvin’s original question at the outset of the book. “How do soldiers killing each other solve the world’s problems?” I show how the long and, at times, winding argument of the book gives us a tentative answer. To do so, I retrace the outlines of a rights-based approach to defensive killing, how the evidence-relative account of liability attribution is the strongest approach therein, how that supports revisionist just war theory, and how a commitment to liberal autonomy can ground collective force therein used. In this chapter, we again use the 2022 Russian war in Ukraine as an example of how the questions central to the theoretical frameworks outlined in this book, particularly the issue of epistemic standing and one’s liability therein, apply exceptionally well to the horrors of modern warfare.
