What is Affordable Dengue Test Kits Urged about?

A Filipino lawmaker has urged the government to make dengue rapid test kits more affordable and accessible for poor families. The resolution calls for an investigation into making reasonably priced test kits available nationwide to help reduce dengue cases. Rapid test kits currently cost between 1,000-2,000 pesos in some hospitals but provide results within 15 minutes. Early detection is important for treatment and recovery, but current testing methods in hospitals may not enable early diagnosis.
