About this document

Understanding Rotocap Functionality by naresh is a document available to read on EtoBox.

The rotocap is a mechanical device that rotates exhaust valves during operation to prevent distortion and leakage. It contains inclined tracks with balls and springs that allow the valve cover to rotate as the valve opens and closes, thereby rotating the valve. This helps remove deposits and keeps the valve at an even temperature. The rotocap stops working below 25% engine load if tracks become contaminated with deposits. Paint marks on the cap indicate if it has stopped rotating and needs replacement.
