This study analyzes the safety and clinical outcomes of using a very high protein (VHP) enteral nutrition formula compared to standard (SF) and high protein (HP) formulas in critically ill patients. The results indicate that increasing protein intake while reducing carbohydrate intake is safe and may even reduce mortality at 30 days post-discharge. Further research is recommended to explore the causal effects of this nutritional strategy on patient outcomes.
