This document presents a new approach to evaluating the performance of real-time component-based software. It introduces a measure called "software sensitivity" which evaluates how the number of missed deadlines changes when deadline lengths are decreased. This approach is demonstrated through a case study of a tracking component in a satellite ground control station software system.
