This document describes a study that produced graphene oxide (GO) using varying concentrations of sulfuric acid during synthesis, to make it more economical and environmentally friendly. The GO was then tested for removing color from textile wastewater by adsorbing methylene blue and brilliant blue dyes. Adsorption kinetics were analyzed using real wastewater. The treated wastewater was also tested for phytotoxicity using lettuce seeds. Results showed that GO produced with less sulfuric acid performed best
