Wolitzky 2005. Effectiveness of Virtual Reality Distraction During A Painful Medical Procedure in Pediatric Oncology Patients by Walter Carlos Krainbuhl is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This study investigates the effectiveness of virtual reality (VR) as a distraction method to reduce distress in pediatric oncology patients undergoing painful medical procedures. Results show that children who engaged in VR experienced significantly less distress, as measured by subjective self-ratings and objective physiological responses, compared to those who did not use VR. The findings suggest that VR can be a valuable intervention to alleviate anxiety and pain during medical treatments for children wi
