About this document

Coal Particle Size Impact on FBC Performance by Michael David is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This document summarizes a study on the effect of coal particle size on the performance of a fluidized bed coal combustor. The study examined NO emissions, elutriation rates, and combustion efficiency for different sized coal particles ranging from crushed coal less than 1.5mm up to 12.5mm fed continuously into the combustor. Results showed NO concentrations were highest at the top of the bed but decreased through the freeboard, while elutriation rates decreased sharply with increasing excess air up to 20%
