Can I read Analysis of hexanal emissions from packaging board products using MHE-GC on EtoBox?

Analysis of hexanal emissions from packaging board products using MHE-GC by Håkan Frisell is a Engineering article available to read on EtoBox.

What is Analysis of hexanal emissions from packaging board products using MHE-GC about?

Multiple headspace extraction -gas chromatography (MHE-GC) was used for analyzing emissions of hexanal from commercially available packaging board products. The emissions of hexanal from the board samples were overall exponential up to nine extraction steps, when analyzed using a thermostatting temperature of 90 ̊C, and a thermostatting time of 40 minutes. At thermostatting temperatures of 100, 105, or 115 ̊C, the emissions of hexanal were increasingly non-exponential. Triacetin was used for surface treatment allowing MHE-GC analysis above 90 ̊C for the selected packaging board products. Formation of hexanal by decomposition of unsaturated fatty acids during the MHE-GC analysis at 90 ̊C did not to any significant extent influence the measurements. Also, increasing the moisture content of the samples from 6.9 to 12.2% did not effect the non-exponential emission of hexanal observed over nine extraction steps.
