This clinical study evaluates the use of n-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate (NBCA) for the embolization of persistent biliary and enteric fistulas in 11 patients who were unresponsive to conventional treatments. The study found that NBCA effectively ceased fistula output after one or two procedures without complications, and no recurrences were noted during follow-up of 9 to 17 months. The results suggest that NBCA embolization may reduce the morbidity associated with prolonged drainage and the need for surgery.
