What is Gender Gap in Music Composition about?

The article discusses the gender imbalance in the field of music composition. It notes that only 14% of composers in a major music organization are female. The author argues this is due to a lack of female role models in the curriculum and fewer girls choosing to study composition. Initiatives that highlight female composers and support women in breaking into the field could help address this inequality over time.
