The main challenges faced in implementing half-day indexing were: reducing effort without compromising quality or customer needs, improving infrastructure to reduce lead time and manual effort, and gaining operator acceptance. These were overcome by: adding indicative slots and smooth screw holes to simplify assembly; redesigning sheet metal parts; designing a universal trolley system; and having Macha demonstrate successful quick assembly to gain operator buy-in.
