Yes Bank was founded in 2004 by Ashok Kapur and Rana Kapoor. It received its banking license from the Reserve Bank of India in 2004. Initially, the bank had three private equity investors who helped achieve the required paid-up capital. Rabobank International also invested in Yes Bank and helped finance the initial investments of Kapur and Kapoor through loans to their investment companies. Within a few years, Yes Bank announced ambitious growth targets to expand its retail banking business across India.
