This study investigates the relationship between lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] levels and long-term outcomes in myocardial infarction (MI) patients, particularly focusing on the influence of diabetes. Among 1018 post-MI patients, higher Lp(a) levels were associated with an increased risk of recurrent MI and all-cause death in non-diabetic patients, while this association was not observed in diabetic patients. The findings suggest that elevated Lp(a) levels may serve as a significant risk factor for adverse outcome
