What is Unclos about?

Countries have the right to establish a territorial sea up to 12 nautical miles from their baselines, with full sovereignty within this zone. When adjacent states share coastlines, their territorial sea boundaries should be equidistant unless otherwise agreed. Foreign ships can pass through territorial waters under the principle of innocent passage, but coastal states have jurisdiction to enforce laws in certain circumstances.
