## Abstract The first part of this chapter introduces some etymological elements and theoretical aspects concerning the two notions of mission and evangelization; its purpose is to focus on the main data foundational to Christian doctrine about mission and evangelization. To highlight some of their shared principles is the aim of the second part, which briefly assesses perspectives of recent statements and documents of the global Christian bodies concerning mission and evangelization. They recognize different approaches and, in so doing, draw a wide-ranging understanding of mission and evangelization. The third part focuses on some doctrinal aspects of today’s Christian commitment to rethink mission and evangelization. In the framework of the search for the ecclesial unity and according to the instances of our time, to rethink mission and evangelization implies paying a specific attention to their anthropological foundation as well as its implications.
