What is Complexes of Cu(II) with 1-(4-amino-6,7-dimethoxy-2-quinazolinyl)-4-(2-furanylcarbonyl)-piperazine (prazosin): synthesis, properties, crystal structure about?
Two new copper(II)-prazosin (Prz) complex compounds, the binuclear green complex Cu 2 Prz 2 Cl 2 (CH 3 O) 2 (1) and the complex salt prazosinium tetrachlorocuprate(II) [HPrz] 2 [CuCl 4 ] (2), have been synthesized and characterized by chemical analysis, electronic spectra, IR and EPR spectroscopy, magnetochemical, thermogravimetric, calorimetric and X-ray diffraction methods. Each of the Cu(II) centers in the binuclear complex (1) is four-coordinated by two bridging CH 3 O -groups, one Prz molecule, monodentately bound through the NH 2 group and one terminal Cl atom. The crystal structure of the complex salt (2) was solved by the single crystal X-ray diffraction method. The structure consists of CuCl 4 2anions and protonated prazosin [HPrz] + cations. A network of -NH 3 + •••O C hydrogen bonds links the [HPrz] + cations into layers, parallel to the ac plane, whereas other H-bonds of the type -NH 3 + •••Cl-Cu exist between the CuCl 4 2moiety and the protonated amino group of the ligand.
